In realising this in a panic, I quickly pulled out the USB cable disconnecting it immediately. But after several minutes I realised I stupidly forgot to disconnect the 300GB USB HD that I had copied the recovered the files to earlier. In the meantime, I proceeded to wipe the original PC HD with Boot and Nuke. I was recovering files from one of my PCs and to speed things up I was using my 300GB USB HD to copy the recovered files to so I could look at them later.
